There cannot be many PCs or laptops unless very low that are supplied with so low amount of memory these days and nearly all 64bit now as it has become mainstream. Regards. You'll have to be careful. If you have 4GB or less of Ram in a machine, its probably best to go for 32bit. 64bit is for computers with more than 4GB of ram. If you have old scanners and printers, generally they'll work on windows7 32bit but not on windows7 64bit. most modern hardware that's been made in the last 5 years or so supports 64bit windows so you should be fine. As for programs, windows7 64bit can be used with older 32bit programs, but may not work with every single older program depending on when it was released. 64bit isn't really faster on 4GB of ram systems you see the difference when you've got 6GB of ram or more. I hope that helps. Mo. On 15/01/2013 18:51, jeff flint wrote: Does it matter which of these are choose? Would I have to buy new software? Is one better than the other?
