I have a DM7, an LS14, and the DM5. I use them for different tasks, but the
DM7 is a great all-rounder with full TTS. I love the LS14 though for
recording interviews for podcasts. The DM5 is your cheaper option if you
buy from Amazon or similar outlet.

I Quite agree.
I have two quite old ones here, but had a play with the ls14 a few weeks
ago.
As you say, it is expensive but has a massive amount of functionality, but
the multi tracking is probably beyond most of our needs.

Hi all,
I'm keen to get something for shopping lists etc (but not a high quality
recorder, that can easily locate the next item(s) recorded and wonder if
anyone uses one and has a good recommendation, please.
I particularly want this as a gift for someone and it would be good, at
last, to do away with the tape-style memos which are tedious, at best, when
it comes to finding a particular item.
