On the old Toshiba laptop which I used for several years I was able to disable the touchpad etc. by pressing FN + f9. This avoided many "accidents" when my clumsy hands touched one of the mouse buttons at an unfortunate time. However with the Satellite Pro A120 which I bought this year disabling the touch pad no longer seems to work - although the feature is included in the manual. If other Toshiba laptop users have any suggestions I would be most grateful. I am sure that there is a simple explanation, but at present it eludes me.
