I'm in exactly the same boat - can't find the nerve to actually sell
anything and in fact I've only purchased from Ebay sellers (shops). I wish
someone would do a jolly good podcast or something because, whatever you're
told, I personally want a bit more of a "feel" for what happens before I let
myself loose!
Let me know if you find anything else really helpful on this subject. I'll
do the same.

I am an inveterate coward, and haven't yet had the courage to try buying or
selling something on EBAY. However, there are a few things I would like

EBAY is an auction site, and I would like to know how auctions really
work.
I believe there is also a place where people can sell at a stated price
without auctioning.
