Yes Chris, the Chancelor's statement was rather ambiguous. I think free national travel does mean evening out the free concession that exists in some English localities. I don't doubt that whatever is left of the VI campaigning world is pushing for free national bus and train travel, which I have mixed feelings about although I hear nothing these days on the campaign front. I think they ran out of steam a bit after British rail did, and never raised enough steam to make it into the 21st. century. Where have all the campaigners gone?
