It has been good to have some views from screen reader, Braille display users and one screen magnification user on this subject. On the face of it there doesn't seem to be much need for me to pursue the subject further. I guess that my general advice to the handful of small voluntary groups I know of would be along the lines of good web page design when sending HTML emails out. Things like alt tagging of images, and links that mean something are two pieces of advice that come to mind. In short, the message seems to be that HTML isn't the NO no that its often been stated to be. Not that I'm trying to promote HTML over plain text. I'm certainly NOT doing that where lists with largish numbers of subscribers are concerned, but in some contexts formatting and images do have a place. Hope this helps. Mel -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ray's Home Thanks to those who did comment on the question of HTML vs. text emails. I'm well aware of the supposed or actual risks that are said to accompany HTML emails; it was the accessability angle I was really focusing on. Justin pointed out the problems that Zoomtext users can face with the formatting of some HTML messages. We didn't hear from Braille output users though, and it might be interesting to hear whether this any one using a Braille display really does have a problem, and if they necessarily should be having problems anyway. Thanks.
