Hi Andy and all

The hotel is called Old Pines, and it resides in the beautiful village of Spean Bridge. Blimey, I'm beginning to sound like something out of the Scottish Tourist Board, and I don't even come from these parts (smile). Yes, they can organise excursions for you. There are lots of walks, and the Nevis Range is not too far away. We went there this year, and went for a ride up in one of the gondolas. That, I must say, was hilarious. It was probably the only place, about 2,500 feet up, that we could all get mobile phone signals. My husband was desperate to explore the gondola as we were travelling up, but I made him sit down. My son, on the other hand, couldn't look down!

The URL for the hotel is
http://www.oldpines.co.uk/default.asp?page=home

I hope this is of some use to anyone who is interested in coming north. I warn you though, it's a heck of a long way from you southerners (smile).

Jackie

Jackie - I like to travel; this hotel you say you can recommend in Scotland, where exactly is it? Apart from being blind friendly to get around, do they
arrange trips/excursions? -

| Well Andy, the old RNIB one closed down, but I think some people have used
| the Henderson Hotel, though I can't speak from personal experience about
it.
| I'm sure they used to advertise in New Beacon or NB as it's daftly named
| these days.
|
| If you ever work your way north to Scotland, I could recommend a cracking
| hotel that isn't specifically for blind people, but which is so blind
| friendly to get round it's sensational. (smile).
