Thanks, Jackie. Perhaps I'll hunt down my 2010 and put it on this computer after all. Carol P----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Brown" <jackieannbrown62@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi Carol I don't think you can turn off the ribbon. It's just Microsoft making theprogram look different so people will buy it, least that's my cynical view.I'm upgrading because I feel I have to, not because I want to leave 2003 behind. I guess we just have to go with the flow. Once it is all configured the way I want it, I hope that will be me sorted, (smile). A year's subscription costs £79 I think. You don't get an actual CD, you download it and install to your device. I really don't get on with ribbons so hope there's a way to turn them off and still get the functionality! With it, you receive all major Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Publisher and One Note, 1TB soon to be unlimited cloud storage from OneDrive and 60 minutes of free Skype world calling minutes. In addition, ifyou have the Home Premium edition of the product, you can install on up to5 Pc's and can create individual user accounts who can share your installswith 1TB of cloud storage space per account. Like 2010, 2013 has the ribbon menu interface so if you are familiar with that, you should be off to a flying start. All the best, Ibrahim.-----Original Message----- From: Carol.Pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxSent: Wednesday, January 07, 2015 6:04 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Office 365 questions What's the difference between Office 365 and 2010, which currently is the latest I have available. The way it was done was the first account acts like an administrator and subsequent account holders were senta link. They created their own accounts with their credentials e.g. withtheir own existing hotmail email IDs. You can create a new account if you wish for yourself if you don't already have one. I hope this helps. This brings me to the dreaded fond farewell to my Office Professional 2003, and a luke warm handshake to Office 365. Martin has already taken out a subscription to 365 which we can apparently install on up to five devices. So to my questions then: 1. Martin can Email me a link which is valid for 30 days that I can use to go to the 365 page. But what we haven't been able to establish is whether, should I use that link and go to the site, do I create my own account, oruse Martin's credentials to download a copy once my machine is up andrunning? Has anyone used a family member's subscription to install it ontheir own computer?2. In 2003, there is a great little tool I often use to either photocopysomething, or scan in a document with my signature on it so that I can sendit to someone as a TIF file. An example might be to scan a VAT exemptionform which I have signed, and can return to a company as a file. I have looked around on Martin's machine, and can't find this equivalent at all in 365. Does it exist or, if not, would K1000 do something similar? Thanks for any advice or suggestions. I just want to be as prepared as Ican be once the machine is upgraded.
