Thanks for your input on this Sandra and Douglas.

I think though we should get clear what happens if you install Real
Alternative with the BBC streams, which I'm interested in. With Listen
Again you do indeed get the choice of using Real stand alone, but only if
the Listen Again stream doesn't carry with it the music interest copyright
nobling of streams where you can skip forward by 5 or fifteen minute
increments, but not back. Its all laughable Really! (Pun not entirely
unintended!

So, lets get this clear. On such nobbled streams I presume the BBC Player
is the only interface that can be used. I'm guessing from what Sandra and
Douglas tell us that Real Alternative is doing the 'playing' of the files,
but the dreaded Beeb custom interface is not to be escaped, even if you are
using Real Alternative. Obviously, you can get away from it in cases where
music isn't a substantial part of the program.

So, unless I've got this wrong, I assume Real Alternative is a partial
liberation only from the Beeb interface, and a total liberation where
streams aren't obliged to use the Beeb interface.

     Ray,
I have only Real Alternative on this system and can get live or
listen again BBC material without any problem. I can even listen to
http://pressakey.net which is another site using embedded audio and
     the Real media format.
