And as well as playing BBC content, I listen to live football off the net,
from comercial radio, and it uses RealPlayer, so, wondering if I install
Real Alternative instead, if it will automatically play the commentary, or
if I'll have to configure it in some way?

Yes, Andy; I'll second Vince's message about real alternative. I've used it for ages and it streams BBC programmes just fine. Real player is a pain in the . . . and I couldn't wait to get rid of it!
