Darran, Yes him too! But let's not go there.

Virgin is cable, true. And therefore so is their Internet and
telephone. So I get close to the 10Mb I pay for, but my Sky conected
son only gets around 4Mb of the 10 he pays for, as their Internet is
still via BT telephone land lines.

And try asking Sky to update your old set-top box?

George.

George, with Sky Plus you can also record two programmes whilst
watching a third.

Virgin's problem is that unless you can get cable you can't get
Virgin.

I imagine its a case of pro's and con's for both styles of viewing.
Sky's available to me, Virgin isn't. Therefore I like Sky.

And finally, I'm also no fan of the late Robert Maxwell, but I assume
it was Rupert Murdock you were thinking of?

Yet another reason why I'm lucky enough to have a British
owned Virgin system where I can record two programs while watching a
third.

AND I am paying less than my son for a better service here in
Northampton.

AND they upgraded my neighbour's 2 year old set top box at no
cost.

Sorry, but I'm not a Robert Maxwell fan!

        George.

        Hi Phil.

Sky themselves contacted me about this very thing a couple of
weeks ago. Here's a copy of their e-mail.

Sky Protect - Beware of imitations

It's come to our attention that a number of extended warranty
providers are contacting our customers claiming to be connected with
Sky.

The only extended warranty plan officially approved and
endorsed by Sky is Sky Protect. It's provided and administered on our
behalf by Domestic & General, our chosen partner, one of the UK's
leading appliance repair specialists.

Any other companies are not approved or endorsed by Sky and we
cannot ensure the validity of any extended warranty plan taken out
with them. Of course you're free to take out a warranty with anyone
you choose, but we advise you read their terms and conditions
carefully before making payment.

If anyone contacts you offering service contracts, protection
plans or warranty cover for your Sky equipment -

        * Ask for the name of their company
(if they are not from Domestic & General they are not
officially approved or endorsed by Sky)

        * Ask the name of the plan they offer

        * Ask them to confirm your Sky account number, your box type
