[access-uk] Re: The Cobolt colour detector

Hi David and Jackie - I have cleaned the lens, and tried the reset many
times, but all with no change! It will occasionally say other colours,
always wrong, but usually says everything is white.

Like I said, I tried a different battery, but it wasn't a new one, but taken
from a different appliance, but both batteries seemed to pack a reasonable
kick when tested on my tongue! So, it's looking faulty, and I guess as it is
about 4 years old, not much Colbolt can do -

Andy

| It doesn't calibrate itself unless you hold down the switch at the
opposite
| end, but I imagine you know that already. Maybe the lens needs cleaning?

| Ian - It comes with a white cap fitted, and calibrates itself to this
before
| use -

|| Andy, I don't know the product, but it sounds like it needs
|| recalibrating. Would pointing it at something white during a reset do

||
|| Hi all -
||
|| I'm quite use to having my colour detector tell me everything is "olive
|| green" <smile> but now, it is seeing everything as "white!"
||
|| It seems to be on the blink; I have changed the battery, but it still
|| isn't seeing correctly, maybe it's got some degenerative condition :]
||
|| Is there some way of resetting it? I know about the button on the
|| bottom, but holding this in when turning it on makes no difference.
|| Anybody got any ideas? Has this happened to anybody else with one of
|| these? -
||
