You should find a small control on the back of the unit. Holding this down
with the power off and switching it on should recalibrate. It is generally
a good idea to leave the lid on while the unit is not in use as this covers
the colour detector. I suppose Cover is really a more accurate word than
lid.

If you are doing these things, and you know the unit's colour detector is
reasonably clean then I would indeed suggest there is a problem and it could
be retirement time unless the product is still in guarantee.

Andy, I don't know the product, but it sounds like it needs
recalibrating. Would pointing it at something white during a reset do
anything?

Hi all -

I'm quite use to having my colour detector tell me everything is "olive
green" <smile> but now, it is seeing everything as "white!"

It seems to be on the blink; I have changed the battery, but it still
isn't seeing correctly, maybe it's got some degenerative condition :]

Is there some way of resetting it? I know about the button on the
bottom, but holding this in when turning it on makes no difference.
Anybody got any ideas? Has this happened to anybody else with one of
these? -

Andy
