Shame Andy. Hope you get it sorted. I've had mine for a long time now and would hate to be without the olive green fanatic!! I also have the Colorino device and usually grab it if the Cobolt one lies to me, or when I am being really fussy and need to know what shade of purple I want to match up, for example.

Out of interest, does the light probe side of your seemingly faulty chappy work? I'm just curious to know whether the colour detection bit is knackered, and whether it makes any noise for actual light.

Hi David and Jackie - I have cleaned the lens, and tried the reset many
times, but all with no change! It will occasionally say other colours,
always wrong, but usually says everything is white.

Like I said, I tried a different battery, but it wasn't a new one, but taken
from a different appliance, but both batteries seemed to pack a reasonable
kick when tested on my tongue! So, it's looking faulty, and I guess as it is
about 4 years old, not much Colbolt can do -

| It doesn't calibrate itself unless you hold down the switch at the
opposite
| end, but I imagine you know that already. Maybe the lens needs cleaning?

| Ian - It comes with a white cap fitted, and calibrates itself to this

||
|| Hi all -
||
|| I'm quite use to having my colour detector tell me everything is "olive
|| green" <smile> but now, it is seeing everything as "white!"
||
|| It seems to be on the blink; I have changed the battery, but it still
|| isn't seeing correctly, maybe it's got some degenerative condition :]
||
|| Is there some way of resetting it? I know about the button on the
|| bottom, but holding this in when turning it on makes no difference.
|| Anybody got any ideas? Has this happened to anybody else with one of
|| these? -
||
