ha ha ha ha Thanks for the maths on that one, and the reminder that all
repairs etc are covered by the talking book services, sound a good deal
doesn't it?  I had to send mine to get new batteries and they replaced it,
iI know that if anything goes wrong with it they will replace it forthwith
again for me.  Ok, I understand, talking books is a very accessable and good
service, so I shall stick to loaning the machines and pay the extra £20,
thank goodness you jogged my wooden brain into thinking Christine W.mode!

So in 10/12 years you will break even on the capital outlay of the player
you bought. Is it likely they will last that long? In my view not very
likely so buying a player will cost more than renting one from the RNIB
