Back in 2003 I could see the white clouds of smoke on Rocket Ridge at
Edwards when they burned off tons of boron hydrides. They had been
storing the evil stuff for decades at great expense and decided to stop
wasting resources. Ironic that the boron made a long journey from the
mine only a few miles away to a chemical plant in New Jersey, then back
to the valley where it had been extracted from the ground half a century
earlier.

Silicon. Error out of habit. Boron is good in theory. Not so good in practice
due to combustion issues. A considerable amount of effort has been made for
it's use in air breathing systems.
