Let's please leave all options open. There is value in going back through
previous discussions on topics to assist in researching answers, but there's
also value in raising some with the current subscribership - most of whom were
unlikely around 17 or so years ago and some of whom might have new knowledge to
share or contribute.
It's not as if this list is saturated with conversation let alone on-topic
discussion. I totally understand the annoyance to some/many of raising the same
discussion points time and time again, but I don't personally believe this
falls into that category (I can probably remember it being raised 5 or so times
since 98) and it's one particular topic that's probably more central to
amateur/experimental rocketry than anything else. The discussions of nitrous
compatibility and handling has probably been raised more often.

Which is why, in this modern day and age with cloud computing and big data, we
of course have a free-text searchable archive of aRocket postings since
whenever.

When researching a topic, members on this list are encouraged to go there first
and dig up all the good stuff that was debated in the 90's, the 00's and again.

Perhaps a reminder about the URL for the searchable archive is in order?
Anyone ...?

Wake up please, this topic has been discussed AD NAUSEAM around 1998-99
on Arocket. Thermal decomposition works but is unreliable and prone to
CATO.

Is a catalyst strictly required for peroxide biprop engines? I would
think that the decomposition reaction would self sustain after
ignition, but I don't have any experience with peroxide.
