WFNA is an amateur oxidizer. No serious professional organization is going
to ever be using it.
Thus, these are amateurs, not professionals and since their activities do
not involve launch, FAA is not involved. The regulatory organization that
does have an interest is the California State Fire Marshall and if this
activity was not run by a Class 1 (Liquid Rocket) state licensed
pyrotechnician, then a violation of law occurred, of which the video is
proof.
If a Class 1 pyrotechnician was responsible, then the relevant regulatory
agency is covered and has only a lesser interest in whether his or her
actions were consistent with law.
In all cases, this is a matter for the relevant regulatory authorities.

They’re in Bishop, California doing a currently small WFNA/something
hypergolic rocket motor and ... need serious help avoiding a BFRC incident
or WFNA burns to staff. Their video had one breathing mask, no skin
protection, many unmasked people in proximity to the WFNA, looked
unplacarded for the WFNA, no awareness that a liquid under pressure could
spray over their berm onto their control console and team..
Ian Garcia, you’re connected in LinkedIn with their lead. So are Denise
Pouchet, Thomas Svitek, Joel Sercel but I don’t think they’re on list.
I want to get responsible safety measures in place over there A) because I
don’t want them hurt but also B) because if they do hurt themselves, OSHA
and CAL-OSHA and FAA all likely to take a harsher look at the amateur and
lower end professionals here and elsewhere. Bad for them bad for the
community.
I reached out on Twitter to a long idle account of theirs and asked fora

Are any list members in proximity to Bishop? It’s a ways from Mojave and
people whose locations I know.
