Yes, is the answer to the Globalstar question. It is currently being flown
on at least 2 SmallSats but not as a replacement for a conventional pointed
RF link with a ground station. As I understand, it works really well, but
data costs are not cheap(at least in terms of "amateur" money). Google
GEARRS and SHARC.
