I don't know how many tomahawk cruse missiles I watched launch from the
USS Antietam. Cruse missiles fly they just have a solid booster that
drops off and they switch to turbine flight after that. The little wings
pop out and they cruse to the target. If the target is close they do go
almost 90 degrees pretty fast if the target is far away they turn slower
and go higher.
We had one turn so fast the booster almost came back and hit the deck!
That was an exception of course. The target was within a mile of the
ship.
