Subject: Re: advice for hiring teachers

Maybe, principals should give us teachers signed contracts in May when we
negotiate our hours for the following school year before we have to start
producing references?

For those of us without tenure, we have to rely on our principal's "word"
that the hours promised will actually be given. I was promised 19 hours in
May and have just been informed that I'm only being given 8. So now I'm
forced with either finding another school to top up my hours (with all the
problems that brings) or look for work outside of teaching.

wanted to get rid of..and even had such a reputation "around town" that
other schools didn't bother to ask him....a rea; pity for the qualified
teachers who wanted to leave his school!!! jesg
