The Irgun only gets as involved as we expect them to (at least, speaking
from past experience, so it seems to me); therefore, Esther makes a good
point, which many of us are exercising.

There is another petition letter being circulated that is due to be posted
on ETNI (not a Jerusalem teachers' initiative this time!) which acknowledges
the Inspectorate's attempt to compromise on the original demands in the HOTS
program, and respectfully requests that some important but as yet unanswered
questions and concerns about it be addressed. Since any positive
change can only come about as a result of our continued unified effort, it
seems to me that it's in everyone's best interests to sign and submit the
letter to the MOE (regardless of one's opinion about the present state of
the program -- unless, of course, one believes that it's perfectly
satisfactory as is).

When all is said and done, reasonable requests are considered -- but we've
got to make our voices heard before this can happen!

Laila tov,
Batya
