Hi,
As it stands at the moment, students who are entering 10th grade in
September will be assessed  on Literature whenever they finish the
module ( when they are in11th or 12th grade). Students who are
entering 11th or 12th grade will still take the F or D module exams,
unless their teacher has taken the lit. course and chooses to do the
module with his/her students.

All of the information you need to know about the module is on Judy
Steiner's site -
http://cms.education.gov.il/educationcms/units/mazkirut_pedagogit/english/whatsnew/

The curriculum has not been "set in stone", nor will it ever be, I
would guess. It is dynamic, reacting to the feedback of those who try
the module with their students.
If you want your students to be assessed by the exam, rather than the
log, you have a choice of two sets of pieces of literature - for 4
points: 4 stories and 3 poems; and for 5 points: one play or novel, 3
stories and 4 poems.

If you have a look at the handbook describing the requirements of the
module, you will see that it is really not much of a "science
experiment" at all, but rather a bit of an expansion on what we have
been doing for years when teaching literature to our students.

As for the Irgun, I sincerely hope that the next month is used for
some serious and reasonable negotiating, so that valuable learning
time does not have to be wasted while we wait for the powers- that- be
to duke it out.
