Hi there! I am sure other teachers out there are encountering a similar problem.... our LD students do not own a walkman which they need for their taped tests, nor are they interested in buying one. Additionally, many stores do not sell them anymore. So what is the solution? We at Kiriyat Hinhuch Ma'ayan Shahar have started to record tests on discs through the computer, and we are offering our students the opportunity to have their test on audio tape or on disc. The advantage of recording tests onto a disc is that it can be nicely split up into paragraphs, enabling students to find parts of a text MUCH easier. On top of that, many more students own a discman in comparison to a walkman. (Nowadays MP3s are replacing the discman...., but that's another story!). My question is whether the Ministry will also start moving ahead with the times and record the bagrut exams on disc? I really believe it is a growing problem which has to be faced rather than ignored. Comments anyone?
