The Netvision/Etni problem appears to definitely be the result of spam filters.
Netvision isn't blocking ETNI mail by definition (i.e. the freelists.org
domain). If it were, no ETNI mail would go through to ETNI subscribers on
Netvision. Rather, it appears that the spam filter on the netvision system is
identifying some of the ETNI mail as spam, and some as legitimate mail.

The same thing happened on the "boker" mail system which I run, when I turned
the spam filter system option on. I tried to discover why some of the messages
were blocked and others weren't. Only a painstainking comparison of the words
listed in the spam list, and the content of each discarded message, can explain
the situation.
For instance, I discovered that one message was rejected, because someone used
the expression - "guinea pig" - and "guinea" is an outlawed spam word.
Actually I was quite surprised by some of the words which appeared in the
default spam list - many of which most likely appear in many regular and
legitimate email messages.
Furthermore, it is not only ETNI mail the spam filter is targeting. It is all
mail coming into the system. So netvision subscribers may be missing much more
than simply ETNI mail.

As Lev pointed out in his message concerning this issue, more and more major
ISPs are resorting to system spam filters in order to try to drastically cut
down on the amount of spam coming into their systems. However, they do know
that this is at the expense of much legitimate mail. The only solution may be
to do what many others are doing - use a public web mail service like hotmail
or yahoo, where you can "tweak" your own private filters to your satisfaction.
Or ask your ISP to turn off the system spam filter for your account - if that
is possible (note - some accounts let you choose whether to use the spam filter
service or not).
