Hello Kevin, routes by contacts is on our list.
I do not believe that we have the option to choose between the internal or
external GPS receiver. We just ask iOS SDK where the user's location is and
what the accuracy is and Apple will decide and use Cell Tower, wifi,
Internal GPS, or External GPS (or any variation thereof) if applicable. Now
this is once we told iOS that we want the best possible accuracy for
Navigation. I know that there are only a handle of Apple approved
Bluetooth GPS receivers, so not all GPS receivers will work. Now if you
have jail broken your phone (which by the way voids the Apple warranty) then
maybe you can use other GPS receivers, but then you also risk that our
application won't be able to register your subscription.

Lowering the brightness will help.
Any plans to allow an address from a contact to be set as a destination?
This would be very helpful in my opinion.
Also, when I pair my external BT GPS receiver Seeing Eyes doesn't use it.
I am told this is an app by app setting.
This also saves battery life if used.
You still need the gyroscope in the phone for pointing though.
