It's great that sendero is looking at a full GPS solution. I can provide my
opinion on this, I'm sure at least some other users may feel the same. I don't
think most people would be willing to spend hundreds of dollars for a GPS
system on these platforms, especially when most of the functionality can be
gotten at a fairly low cost on the Iphone, and almost free on Android. The most
I might be willing to pay would probably be around $100, and it would have to
offer something I didn't already have. On both platforms, I can get good
directions and tell where I am, both address and cross street. Automatic
announcements might be nice as well as knowing if the cross street is on both
sides. For me at least, these are luxuries though, not requirements. I don't
use any virtual features, though I know that is important to some people. It's
good that Sendero is looking at other platforms though, I do think the days of
the blind notetakers and windows mobile are numbered. There's no reason to get
a note taker these days when you can get a laptop that does more and costs
less, and Windows Mobile on cell phones is pretty much dead.
