It's easier to figure out things sitting in my easy chair, but when on the road, it's different. 1. As I fumble around I have lost speech how do I get the pk talking again? -I think that Catherine answered this question really well. 2. I was trying to create poi for bus stops. Entertaining myself while waiting. I got the dialog, but the poi was set around 100 feet from where I was standing. How do I snap this to my real position? -This is part of the GPS known as GPS Drift. SO, you may be standing still, but your GPS position may be drifting around within 30-100 feet of where you really are. Under ideal conditions, it should drift up to 30 feet at most, but tall buildings and other obstructions can increase this drift. 3. On the other hand, how do I go to a virtual position and create a user poi there? -Catherine mentioned the way of Virtually Exploring the Map and by an Address Lookup, another way is if you know the Latitude and Longitude of a location. 4. Should I use user poi or a sub category, or put the poi in a place like bus/rail? -The nice thing with assigning User POIs to a subcategory is when you have assigned a POI to a category like Bus/Rail, it will show up in the list when you pull up POIs within that particular category. It will also show up when you search using the category User and Subcategory Private or All. This is important when submitting POIs as all User Private POIs will not be included, so this is a good way to submit POIs without having to delete the ones that you don't want included first. 5. If I wanted to advocate with the transit company for the poi for Milwaukee county bus stops, what would I ask for? Data and format to be included. -I would recommend contacting Mike May the CEO or Charles LaPierre the CTO of Sendero Group on this one. Their emails are: MikeMay@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and Charles@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 6. With out being in a route, how do I get gps to tell me details about the intersection I am going to cross? Streets and angles of crossing. -X (dots 456 is the one-handed) will give you the cross street. So, it will say something like Fairmont Cir 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock. For a detailed intersection reading, it is SPACE with X (dots 46). This will include the street you are, the cross street the directionality of the streets and if it is a T-Shape or Plus-Shaped. For example, 4 way. on florida street. florida street, west and east. 3rd street south and north. So, this tells us a few things, that the intersection is a Plus-Shape and that Florida runs East and West and 3rd runs North and South. This is the manual way of doing it, but you can setup Multiple Repeat and it is MX for the Cross Street and MN for the Detailed Intersection. 7. I can select poi categories to be automatically announced, but I have to select one or all. What if I want bars restaurants, and bus stops? -This currently isn't possible, but wouldn't this be a nice feature? 8. When entering a search string, I get every place with the string in the name or on the street with the name. is their a way around this? For example, I was getting off the bus at Townsend street school. By the time I decided and searched to make this an announced destination, I was already there. -Currently there isn't a way around this. It is meant to behaved like this where the search string will search the POI name and the details. Sounds like another future enhancement to me. 9. I can make a vehicular or pedestrian route, but the bus has a mind of it's own. Can I record the route the bus makes, and save and open the route, the next time I go to the same or near-by destination? -The closest thing that you can come to doing right now is to make a Replay file and review the route at a later time or Create a Manual Route along the way and make a Route Waypoint at significant turning points. Again, sounds like a future feature to me. The more I use this thing, the less I know. I found the gas station, where they sell snickers bars, the bus stop, transfer point, and home. I also found a bakery and a pie shop. Not to bad. -There is so much to this wealth of information that it is hard to grasp it. There are so many eccentricities and nuances to the system.
