Ouch!
I had lotsa problems trying to linux working on these
computers, partly b'cos of the weird hardware and partly b'cos of my
inexperience...
The Media GX (with its integrated Northbridge and other peripherals)
is well supported in the 2.4 kernels and later, but there may have been
problems with the 2.2 kernels. I run Routerlinux (www.routerlinux.com)
on a GCT/Allwell 1030 set-top box, which has a MediaGX CPU. It's
an excellent 24/7/365 firewall/router/NAT/ipsec platform.
