Try moving the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Newer Xorg auto detects and
configures the required values. I am not sure what version of Xorg

8.10. Removing the xorg.conf did the trick.
This didn't work for me. IIRC, the same 'dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xorg' used to allow the screen resolution to be configured.
But it appears to be no longer the same on lenny. There seems to be
some to automagic configuration due to which screen resolution
configuration is not provided as an option. But the screen resolution
is automagically configured to a resolution lesser than the maximum
resolution supported. Are there any ways to overcome this?
