Hello,
How do you know that a larger resolution is supported? Perhaps the
combination worked in the past but is unstable with the new xserver
and could crash and/or damage the equipment. :-|
A resolution of 1024x768 was available on Debian Etch installation on
the same machine.
So I assumed the resolution to be supported. But in Lenny the maximum
available resolution on the same machine after the upgrade is 800x600
and I can't find a way to change it without directly editing the
configuration files.
Or maybe is this a change in xserver rather than in debconf?
Yes. Create your own /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and install it. All the
tweaking of the configuration that was possible in the past is still
possible. :-)
The very purpose of this question is to avoid direct editing of the
configuration files. :-). Anyways, I will try it and get back with the
results. :-)
Thank you.
