...has already given info here that the State Govt is in the
process of including free software in the _Matriculation_ Syllabus.
The same could be adopted for the State Board syllabus also, and as a
i have informed that, there is a new syllabus for Matric, which touches
Tamil Computing and Linux. It does not mean that they are towards free
software.
I also mentioned that, i have given suggestions to include Free and Open
Source Topics
Are the school syllabuses followed/proposed in Tamil Nadu published online?
Would it be possible to arrange a demo of Gnu/Linux at a State Level
Teachers' Meeting?
Computer science teachers recently protested against privatisation of
computer education in public schools. If the existence of free software
is brought to light, it should provide good reasons for both avoiding
privatisation, and to adopt free software in the schools.
Thanks,
Ramanraj.
