Different people have different styles of presentation. If the above
approach works for you, well and good.

It is not a question of what is learnt first. But, these are actually
essential things to know for budding computer "engineers".

It depends on where you want to draw the level of abstraction, who the
intended audience are, and what you want to achieve from your
presentation.

I have actually found people who understand hardware to write better C
programs than others. But, that has just been my experience.
