We've used FPM in a VM in the past.
This has ruby dependencies.
This should work if your Solaris satisfies them.

IMO, since the said RPMs are targeted for CentOS/RHEL, it would best
to build the RPM on a CentOS/RHEL platform itself.
In VBox or LKVM guest, you can install a "Development" type desktop,
it will have all the tools needed to build the RPMs.
