IMO, since the said RPMs are targeted for CentOS/RHEL, it would best
to build the RPM on a CentOS/RHEL platform itself.
In VBox or LKVM guest, you can install a "Development" type desktop,
it will have all the tools needed to build the RPMs.


I would rather try and understand why it has to be built on Solaris. There
exist pretty robust build tool methods which work perfectly well on Linux.
