Prove it, sir !! You and me being Linux/FOSS enthusiasts does not mean
I am using GNU/Linux ?(fedora) for more than 7 years . Now I am working as
a Senior Staff to a Multinational Company. Handles lots of document than
code . Still I am using OpenOffice.org / LibreOffice and Lotus Symphony for
read write and send documents clients across the glob. Still I don't have
any issues with it. With this experience I dare put forward my argument .
That is exactly what I mean. You are using Linux for more than 7
years. You are used to it. Even I like LibreOffice. Try and look at
things from the perspective of a long time MS office user and you'll
understand what I mean. I myself use LibreOffice / Claws mail /
Thunderbird. I'm speaking about normal users, you know? Those who
don't care about FOSS and stuff. People who just want to get their
work done, and fast.
I would like to suggest some thing you may not like: try googling
something like, "openoffice sucks" or "why I hate openoffice" or
something similar. I know that most are mere nonsensical rants and
that many problems stated would have already been fixed in
LibreOffice. But then, see what they mean when they say usability /
ease - of -use / interface etc. I find LibreOffice pretty usable for
myself. Convincing people is a nightmare and I'm trying to do just
that.
