Hi all,
Me and Shakthi had an informal meeting today where we felt the need for
interacting on a regular basis within the ilugc. Our thought was, rather
than asking people to present themselves physically at some place (which
as far as now is only during Monthly Meets in IITM), we thought of
having online meets in IRC. Our idea is, we can meet at a specific time
at an IRC channel during the weekend and discuss. This will help people
who are not present in Chennai but are actively involved with ilugc
Mailing list to interact with the other members who are in chennai.
Also, this will keep the LUG active even when there are no Monthly
Meets, GLVs or other activities around. Also, the understanding and
interaction between our active members will better as well as nwebies to
ilugc might be able to get along with the existing members.
In regards to the above idea, I have registered #ilugchennai channel
with irc.freenode.net. This will serve as our online meeting ground. We
wish ilugc members who have access to internet can join us every
weekend, Sundays around 11 a.m. The day and time is tentative and
subjected to change depending upon the feedbacks of the majority.
All suggestions, ideas, comments, criticisms are welcome along with a
minimal flame :)
