I did not say doze cant open them - I said doze users complain that
they cant open them - also ascii they cant open
ASCII text files I can understand, there's a difference in LF / CRLF use
that makes linux and ms-dos (well, windows) text files a bit incompatible.
That's why you have dos2unix / unix2dos and options in vim to save files as
dos or unix text.
I don't see how or why someone can't open an rtf file in windows. I've
created / edited rtf files in openoffice on linux, and then successfully
opened them using wordpad (aka "write") and Word 2007 on XP.
