My take on this is that sighted programmers can certainly learn Jaws, however, the problem is that no matter how many times you tell them not to, they still want to use the mouse and assume that what they see is what we hear. Its an ongoing battle for sure. As far as a blind Jaws user that has technical leanings of course they can learn how to script, it's a matter of wanting to take the time to learn the language.
