Sean,

Thanksfor your reply. The application is a standalone interface to a
database application. At the moment, I don't have any more details than
that. I'm not involved in the project myself, just got roped in for the
aforementioned discussion.

Regards,
Léonie.

Hi:
To take you questions in order:
Theoretically, it would be a less steeper learning curve is a sighted person
could already program to teach them to jaw script--and some times it would
have distinct advantages. Having said that though, blind programmers can
script, but as previously mentioned a sighted programmer would be able to
spot and script *some* things a lot quicker.
I can think of one situation where a sighted scripter was necessary as the
product was a html based system where text that had to be read wasn'teasily
visible--not the mention the custom scroll bars!
Depending on whee you are thee are sightedscripters arround the one I know
of in the uk is Sight and sound.
Just out of interest what sor of application(s0 are you loking to customise?
Also note the costs involved to bring somebody else in.
Hope this helps
Sean.

Evening,

An interesting question came up today at work. Would it be easier to
teach a sighted programmer to use Jaws, or a Jaws user with some technical
leanings to programme? The programming in question would of course be Jaws
scripting.

I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on this. I'd also like
to know if there are any sighted Jaws scripters out there? I presume that FS
probably employ some, but don't know with any certainty.

Regards,
Léonie.
