The problem Bert is RESTRAINT.

The majority of homes in the U.S. are showing their restraint by NOT WATCHING the programming delivered by FOTA broadcasters.

Droping their MVPD service would not give new OTA viewers programming options they did not already have. They would simply lose many program options and be limited to the programming of the broadcast networks.

Perhaps as a result they might watch more network TV.

Or they might rent more movies or se more Internet TV services.
