4:3 content lives on DVD, and even there it is a minority (in Europe).

Tell this to Warner, Disney and the other BD disk makers who already have, or are now in the process of releasing 70th anniversary editions of landmark Technicolor System Five films and other B&W classics on BD.

These are all 1.33:1 films and are being released with the original film aspect ratio of 1.33:1.

None of these BD disks will play properly on *any* 16:9 or 4:3 display without aspect ratio errors.

This is a huge miss on the part of all involved.

Cliff
