Yes, but almost nobody is watching ANYTHING on a native 1080i display
anymore.  That is certainly a reason to diminish support for that
format.   1080i CRT based systems were the first consumer HD displays
but mostly have disappeared from the market these days.  I don't miss
mine at all.
