There you go again, back to square one. We have covered all of this ad
nauseam. The cable company can simply put more and more of their content over
IP, ultimately all of it, instead of trying the hail mary tactic to hold on
to the legacy proprietary non-neutral model. We went through all of this.
Start with TVE, for instance, and expand it. We have seen that some ARE
taking this tack. This IS about IP distribution, Craig. OTT sites us IP. TVE
uses IP. Hulu uses IP.
And this cable company still uses MPEG-2TS, as do most of the MVPDs in the
world. Adding IP to a MVPD STB makes sense as a transition strategy. Moving to
an all IP infrastructure is far more costly:
1. Rebuilding the head end
2. Developing new IP software front end
3. Upgrading many neighborhoods to provide necessary bandwidth
4. Replacing entire STB inventory - or requiring subscribers to buy their own
boxes.
ROTFL. You mean, the CableCard that no one supports? Right. And even if,
you're still using a non-neutral pipe, when doing so.
No Bert, like the TiVo Bolt and many other front ends that work with MPEG-2TS.
Besides, you also missed the point that Hulu is planning to offer a mix of
live and on demand content, for Hulu subscribers, but that Suddenlink won't
support this service on their proprietary box.
There is no connection between these two announcements. You cannot extrapolate
that. But it is irrelevant, as there would be n reason to subscribe to two MVPD
bundles.
You still haven't been able to explain the logic. The best you could do is
become confused, and say that live content would not be available from Hulu.
But it will be.

Different thread. Unrelated.
We'll see if Hulu does offer a VMVPD service...
