Then, obviously, that would work far better here, where
transmitter power will be less of an issue.

On the other hand, I would challenge anyone in Elkton MD
to receive their "local" Baltimore stations with a low
gain omni, and transmitter power down to 3 KW. In Europe,
of course, they wouldn't be expected to. Because in
Europe they use translators all over the place, as any
decent OTA infrastructure would do.

Over here, the broadcasters are happier to expect their
Congressmen to enforce must-carry, and depend on their
customers to rely on third party service providers to
deliver their TV fix.

2K COFDM, at 64-QAM, should be roughly equivalent to a
Linx receiver.
