I don't think you can buy anything older than 3rd generation *today*. By 2007,
I doubt you will find products as old as 5th gen, besides used ones on eBay.

Certainly true of dense 'urban canyons' like Manhattan.

The whole point of the giveaway program is to take care of the 'refuseniks' who
do not want DTV, who currently rely on OTA NTSC, and who will lose access to TV
programming when NTSC is shut off. Give them a converter box and they can
continue using that old NTSC set until it dies. If they buy a new TV with an
integrated ATSC receiver, their problem is solved and they don't need a
government handout.
