Sorry to have given you the wrong impression. I meant precisely the opposite by 
what I wrote.

The problems of delivery over IP nets, and even the nice features like dynamic 
packet sizing and dynamic control of streaming media quality, are all pretty 
much solved by ALL of the various protocols. That's hardly the issue, was my 
point. It's not like, "My scheme is so much better than the others that I can't 
possibly give it up."

The multiple unnecessary standards become a nuisance for consumers. Maybe not a 
huge nuisance, but they still can't help but increase the price of everything. 
For example, they create a need for CDNs to unravel the mess. And they make it 
virtually impossible for video cards to work equally well on all streams. If 
that should ever happen, someone will quickly create a new standard. It's a 
racket, that's all.
