We demonstrated nearly flawless mobile reception in Las Vegas in 2000.

Several years later I rode in a van equipped with a LINX receiver and several dipole antennas; we were told that the Linx receiver and a few minor modifications to 8-VSB would make mobile reception a reality. But what we saw was a failed demo, unable to deal with the rather benign multipath environment in Las Vegas

This week we were once again told that the problems was solved. But the mobile demo of A-VSB in Las Vegas still could not provide reliable reception, despite the significant loss in payload, compared to the hierarchical DVB-T demo in 2000.

I find Bert's optimism to be rather quaint, if not totally misinformed.

Craig
