You're still not getting it, Craig:
The message is, whether you're talking ATSC 1.0 or ATSC 3.0, broadcasters *can*
get to the consumers' IP appliances. The LG box in question proves that point.
AND
The broadcasters can also put their stuff on the web, as they have to do for
any interactive service in ATSC 3.0 **anyway**.
So bottom line, use the ATSC 3.0 moniker to describe a mass migration to
Internet TV, if you must, but the constant focus on only the one-way broadcast
aspect misleads the innocent into thinking this is the main event. If it is the
main event, it won't go very far.
Ask the innocent, and I'm sure they are misled into thinking the ATSC 3.0
broadcast will give them on-demand TV, targeted commercials, interactivity,
maybe even web browsing.
