Having gone to the trouble to install CAT 5 in six locations in our home, it just makes sense to use wires for devices that are tethered to a 110 volt power cord. And for the devices that don't crash when the power company does a sloppy generator switch (which happens almost every day here in Gainesville) the WiFi network is available in most areas of the house, and on the deck. The trend in structured wiring in the recent Parade of Homes here in Gainesville, was a universal pipe to each room of the house. I am not sure if they are using COAX or CAT 5, but they claim to be able to send any media to any room in the home; the critical path is the hub where all of the wiring comes together and connects to the "gateway." Satellite radio was also a big deal this year; I even saw a one rack unit XM receiver.
